1. Pinned images not visible after capturing in full-screen mode

  • In Longshot’s Settings/Paste&Pin, enable the Remain on top even having full-screen App.

2. Option key not working for shortcuts on macOS 15.0

  • For security reasons, the system has disabled the Option key for shortcuts. Please use other hotkeys. Reference

3. How to edit a scrolling capture screenshot

  • After taking a scrolling screenshot, pin the screenshot, then right-click on the pinned image and select Show Toolbar to start editing.

4. How to completely delete and reset Longshot data

  1. Quit and close Longshot
  2. In Finder, navigate to /Users/—/Library/Containers/com.chitaner.Longshot, where is your computer’s username
  3. Delete the entire com.chitaner.Longshot folder
  4. Reopen Longshot, and it will be reset

5. On macOS 15.0, modifying Location or authorizing Full Disk Access failed in Longshot Setting/Capture/Output

  • This is caused by corruption of related data in the system Keychain.
  • The steps to fix it are as follows:
      1. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/ and find Keychain Access.app.
      1. Double-click to open it and select Keychain Access.
      1. In the search box at the top right, enter com.apple.scopedbookmarksagent.xpc to search.
      1. After locating the com.apple.scopedbookmarksagent.xpc entry, right-click and delete it.
      1. Restart the machine.

6. Why doesn’t my Longshot have OCR?

    1. Exit Longshot

    1. Copy the command into Terminal: defaults delete com.chitaner.Longshot
    1. Press Enter to execute the command
    1. Reopen Longshot

9. What are the differences between MAS and UMAS?

  • MAS refers to the version available on the Mac App Store, while UMAS refers to the version downloaded from the official website or other channels outside of the Mac App Store.
  • There is no difference in functionality between the two, although UMAS updates may be slightly slower.
  • MAS and UMAS are separate apps and cannot be used interchangeably for upgrades or activations.
